Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, born on April 22, 1995 in Vienna, Austria, is an Austrian violinist and conductor. He began playing the violin at age five, receiving his first lessons in Armenia before returning to Austria at 10 years old. In 2011, he became a student of Gerhard Schulz at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Tjeknavorian's career took off with notable performances at prestigious festivals such as Andermatt Swiss Alps Classics, Enescu Festival, Grafenegg Festival, and Salzburg Mozart Week. He has collaborated with orchestras including the Gewandhausorchester, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and London Symphony Orchestra. Notable awards include the Stefanie Hohl Violin Competition (2013) and the Szymon Goldberg Award. Tjeknavorian was recognized with the Opus Klassik for Young Artist of the Year in 2018 and was appointed Music Director of the Milan Symphony Orchestra for the 2024/25 season.
