Hand of Fire, a thrash metal band from Concord, California, was formed in 2015 under the leadership of Jim Settle. The project initially began as a collaboration between Settle and Corey Steger in 2010. After signing with Rottweiler Records in May 2016, Hand of Fire released their debut album Nuclear Sunrise in 2017, which received critical acclaim. The band's lineup has undergone several changes, including brief stints with former Testament bassist Greg Christian and Jungle Rot drummer Jason Borton. Notable songs from the band include "Let the Killings Begin" (2016) and "World of Deception" (2018). Tragically, founding member Corey Steger passed away in a car accident on March 17, 2021.
