Lars Duppler, a German-Icelandic jazz pianist and composer, was born on December 16, 1975, in Flensburg. He began playing piano as a child and studied at the Musikhochschule Köln and the Conservatoire de Paris. Duppler's early career included memberships in the Jugendjazzorchester NRW and the European Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Duppler founded his own quartet Palindrome, later expanding it to a sextet. He collaborated with various artists including Nils Wülker, Tom Gaebel, Eva Mayerhofer, Inga Lühning, and Frank Sackenheim. His notable albums include Palindrome 6tet (2003), Alliance Urbaine (2008), Rætur (2011), Naked (2016), and Unbound (2022). He was a finalist at the Martial-Solal-Klavierwettbewerb Paris in 2002 and 2006, and won the Jazzförderpreis der Stadt Köln in 2003. In 2011, Duppler became a lecturer for jazz piano and ensemble at the Hochschule Osnabrück.
