Hiroshi Suzuki (born November 12, 1933), born in Yokohama, was a Japanese jazz trombonist. Suzuki released the albums Variation (1969), Up Up and Away (1969), and Trombone Deluxe (1970) before moving to the United States at age thirty-eight. While residing in Las Vegas, Suzuki performed with bandleader and drummer Buddy Rich. Suzuki returned to Japan in 1975 to record the five-track album Cat at Nippon Columbia Studio, which appeared in February 1976. Columbia Records re-released the album in 2015, and it gained a cult following in the 21st century. The composition “Romance” appeared on the WaJazz compilation series and received a posthumous music video in 2023. Suzuki died in Las Vegas on January 16, 2020.
