Heinz Ganss, known professionally as King Size Dick, was born on December 29, 1942, in Cologne, Germany. He began his musical career in the 1960s with local bands such as "Dick & The Shade." During his time serving in the armed forces in Wales, he performed with Brian Poole & The Tremeloes. In the 1970s, King Size Dick collaborated with Bläck Fööss and became known for singing "Linda Lou". He joined "Formation Dick & Alex" at the end of the decade, releasing albums like Wä Op Zack Es... (1979) and "Schweine in weißen Westen" ("Pigs in white vests"). King Size Dick received the 2002 Willi Ostermann medal, the highest official award of the Cologne Carnival.
