John Sheridan (January 20, 1946 – August 24, 2021) was an American Mainstream Jazz pianist and arranger from Columbus, Ohio. He began piano lessons at age eight and formed his first band at age 13. After graduating from Capitol University in 1968, Sheridan served in the US Navy Band until 1972. He earned a Master of Music from North Texas State University in 1977. Sheridan joined Tommy Loy's Upper Dallas Jazz Band in 1973 and began a forty-year association with the Jim Cullum Jazz Band as an arranger and pianist in 1979. He led the Dream Band, recording five albums for Arbors Records. His discography included the albums They Can't Take That Away from Me (1999) and Artistry3 (2004). Sheridan collaborated with artists including Scott Hamilton, Wycliffe Gordon, and Rebecca Kilgore. He returned to the Cullum ensemble in 2011 before retiring due to illness. Sheridan died in 2021.
