Manjula Gururaj, born on June 10, 1983, in Mysore, India, is a playback singer and voice-over artist. She began her musical journey by training in both Hindustani and Carnatic classical styles. Gururaj entered the Kannada film industry as a playback singer in 1984 with the movie Rowdy Raja. Her biggest breakthrough came in 1989 with the song "Ollage Seridhare Gundu" from the film Nanjundi Kalyana. In 1994, she received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for "Myale Kavkonda Mungara Moda" for the film Chinnari Mutha (1993). Throughout her career, Gururaj has recorded over 2000 songs in seven languages and more than 12,500 themes across various genres including devotional, folk, and light music. She also established the Sadhana School of Music, which trains young musicians in light and classical music.
