Rich Perry, born on July 22, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, is an American jazz tenor saxophonist. He attended Bowling Green State University for a year before moving to New York City. Perry's early career included touring with the Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1975 and the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra the following year. He has collaborated extensively with notable musicians such as Chet Baker, Paul Bley, Machito, Bob Moses, Jack McDuff, Billy Hart, Eddie Gómez, Tom Harrell, and Harold Danko. Perry began recording as a leader in 1993 on SteepleChase Records, releasing albums including Beautiful Love (1995), O Grande Amor (2000), and Grace (2011). He has also been a member of Vanguard Jazz Orchestra and the Maria Schneider Orchestra, and has also served as an adjunct faculty member at William Paterson University's jazz program.
