Rūta Murinaitė, known professionally as Rūta MUR, was born around 1993 in Klaipėda, Lithuania, and is a singer. She began her music career at the age of 23 while studying abroad in Spain. Her debut album, Love Story Short, was released in 2020, followed by Prime Time in 2022. In 2023, she participated in the Lithuanian Eurovision Song Contest selection show Pabandom iš naujo!, where she finished in second place with the song"So Low". Her music has incorporated elements of pop, often described as "new nostalgia," drawing inspiration from 1980s pop while reflecting contemporary themes. She has performed at various festivals, including the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg and Eurosonic Noorderslag. In addition to her album releases, she has released several singles, such as "Forever" (2023), and has collaborated with artists like Kabloonak and Leon Somov.
