Daniel Pollack, born in 1935, is an American pianist. He began his musical studies at age four and made his debut with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra at nine, performing Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. Pollack graduated from the Juilliard School and studied under Rosina Lhévinne. His career took off when he was a prize winner at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, becoming the first American to record for the Russian label Melodiya. Notable performances include collaborations with Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra at Saint Petersburg's White Nights Festival. Pollack toured extensively across five continents, performing with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
