The Don Cossacks Choir Russia, a Russian folk choir, was founded in 1992 and led by Dutch conductor Marcel Verhoeff. The choir drew inspiration from the Don Cossack Choir of Serge Jaroff, which had been established in 1921. Following the political changes during the Gorbachev era, the new choir was formed as exiled Cossacks returned to Russia and native Russian Cossacks reasserted their traditions. Their debut album, In Dulci Jubilo - A Christmas Concert At The Papal Basilica Minor, was released in 2006. Subsequent albums included A Wonderful Russia (2006).
