Roger "Hurricane" Wilson, was born on July 27, 1953, in Newark, New Jersey. He began playing guitar at age nine and started performing professionally by 1972. Wilson formed the Roger Wilson Band in 1978, which opened for acts like Albert Collins and 38 Special. He released his debut solo album Hurricane Blues in 1994, followed by Live from the Eye of the Storm in 1996. Wilson has collaborated with notable musicians including Les Paul, Hubert Sumlin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Albert Collins.
