Hugues-Adhémar Cuénod (1902–2010) was a Swiss classical tenor known for his roles in opera and operetta from Corseaux-sur-Vevey, Switzerland. Cuénod received musical training at institutions in Lausanne, Geneva, Basel, and Vienna. He began his career as a concert recitalist, making his stage debut in 1928 with Ernst Krenek's Jonny spielt auf in Paris. Cuénod performed at notable venues such as Milan's La Scala, the Glyndebourne Festival, and London's Royal Opera House. He was particularly known for his roles as Basilio in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, the Astrologer in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Golden Cockerel, and Sellem in Stravinsky’s The Rake's Progress. Cuénod made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera at age 84, performing as Emperor Altoum in Puccini’s Turandot (1987). Cuénod died in Vevey, Switzerland.
