Saxophonist, composer and conductor Raphaël Imbert (b. 1974) has made a name for himself in the many formations he has created: Hemlé Orchestra, Atsas-Imbert Consort, Newtopia Project, Nine Spirit, Sixtine Group, Brotherhood Consort. A demanding musician and researcher, member of the Improtech section of the French National Research Agency (ANR), he is developing the Omax at Lomax mission, a musical analysis laboratory dedicated to ethno-musicology. More prosaically, he signed the album Live au Tracteur en quartette in 2011. After Bach and Coltrane in 2008, the 2013 album Heavens pays tribute to Mozart and Duke Ellington. After a learned duo album with composer Karol Beffa(Libres, 2015), he set off on the trail of the origins of the blues, in the American South, for the album Music Is My Home - Act 1 with veterans Alabama Slim and Big Ron Hunter.
