Karthago is a Hungarian rock ensemble formed in 1979 in Budapest. The group was established by Ferenc Szigeti and performed in the west coast rock and AOR genres. The original lineup included Attila Gidófalvy, Zoltán Kiss, Miklós Kocsándi, and Tamás Takáts. The ensemble released the eponymous studio recording Karthago in 1981, which sold 178,000 copies. After winning an international contest in Austria, the group secured a two-record deal for Western Europe and toured the Soviet Bloc. The band became inactive in 1985 but resumed activity with concerts in 1990, 1997, and 2000. Following a 15-stop tour in 2003, the ensemble released the studio recording ValóságRock in 2004. Its discography featured the recording “Ha Neked Kevés” and the studio albums Időtörés (2009) and Együtt 40 éve!!! (2019).
