Überflüssig

Überflüssig, a German punk band formed in 1996 in Herne, was founded by Joscha Schmottlach. The initial lineup included Frau B. Linddarm on bass and Arthur on drums. The band's early releases include the albums Der Totengräber Boogie (2000) and Narrenfreiheit (2001). In 2018, Joscha Schmottlach introduced the genre "trashpop-punkrock" with the album In Ihrem Abonnement enthalten (2018). The band's media presence included appearances on various television shows and radio stations such as WDR and SWR. The band also appeared in the RTL soap opera Unter uns in 2008 with a cover of "Im Wagen vor mir" with actress Olivia Klemke. Their EP Love, Peace and Pleasure (2023), limited to 500 vinyl copies, was played internationally.
