Florence Véran, born on June 23, 1922, in Paris, France, was a French composer and singer. Trained at the conservatoire classique, she began her career as a songwriter with notable successes in the 1950s. Her breakthrough came with "Gigi", interpreted by André Claveau in 1950. Another significant composition was "Je hais les dimanches" (with lyrics by Charles Aznavour), which Juliette Gréco performed and won the Prix Édith-Piaf d’interprétation at Deauville in August 1951. Florence Véran also collaborated with Robert Gall on several hits, including "Les Amants merveilleux" in 1960. She passed away on July 19, 2006, in Nogent-le-Rotrou.
