Parviz Yahaghi, born on September 23, 1935, in Tehran, Iran, was an Iranian violinist and composer. He began his musical education under his uncle Hossein Yahaghi, adopting the Yahaghi name professionally. Yahaghi's career started when he joined the Iranian government-financed radio station at around age 20, composing for celebrated singers like Banan, Marzieh, Delkash, and Mahasti. His compositions were often featured on the long-running radio program Golha. Before the 1979 Iranian Revolution, Yahaghi established his own recording studio in Tehran. He declined invitations to compose patriotic music during the Iran-Iraq war. His most widely distributed recordings outside Iran include the five-volume Persian Melodies collection and the four-volume Violin Melodies collection.
