River Guerguerian is a Canadian-born American composer and percussionist of Armenian-Egyptian descent. He earned his Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music in 1989. Guerguerian's music evolved through explorations of indigenous instruments, leading to compositions performed by various ensembles and festivals. He has recorded on over 250 albums and film soundtracks, collaborating with artists like the Paul Winter Consort and Ziggy Marley. Notable works include Trance – River Guerguerian (2002) and Tibetan Bowl Meditation (2006). Guerguerian has performed in concert halls worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. He traveled internationally with Turkish master musician Omar Faruk Tekbilek and lead his world jazz trio Free Planet Radio in 2001.
