The October Trio is a Canadian jazz trio from Vancouver, consisting of Josh Cole on bass, Dan Gaucher on drums, and Evan Arntzen on saxophone. Formed in 2004 while studying at Capilano College, the trio began performing regularly at the Rime in East Vancouver in March 2005, where they recorded their first live album Live at Rime (2005). Their debut studio album, Day In, was released in 2006 and earned them the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Galaxie Rising Star Award for Best New Group at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. The trio has performed at numerous festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Calgary Jazz Festival, and toured eastern Canada and the United States in June 2010. In 2012, the group released New Dream.
