Anubis Gate, a progressive metal band from Denmark, was formed in 2003. The group's origins can be traced back to 1984 when bassist Jesper M. Jensen and guitarist/vocalist Henrik Fevre started V-Axe, which later evolved into Graff Spee before disbanding in 1986. Anubis Gate released their debut album Purification on April 26, 2004. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of Kim Olesen and Henrik Fevre for their second album, A Perfect Forever, released on September 19, 2005. Jacob Hansen joined as vocalist for Andromeda Unchained (August 17, 2007), which won Best Artwork at the Danish Metal Awards in 2008. The concept album The Detached followed on May 5, 2009, winning Best Production at the Danish Metal Awards in 2010. Anubis Gate's fifth album, self-titled and released on September 13, 2011, was their first with Nightmare Records and included the single "Golden Days".
