An English rock pioneer, Vince Taylor began his career in the United States before settling in France, where he became the emblem of the wicked rocker, decked out in black leather and chains. Carried away by the Twist wave, the singer of "Brand New Cadillac " sank into depression and drugs to the point of madness. After a series of comebacks, the dark angel of rock'n'roll died on August 23, 1991 in Switzerland.
