Under her own label Phonotograph Records Kae West released her latest single, How Sweet, on October 15 following a double A-side of covers of The Smiths / Morrissey songs “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out” and “Hold On To Your Friends”
‘How Sweet’, an uptempo song of a different caliber beholds a decent dose of both cynicism and optimism and with a touch of self-deprecating humor, Korine also shows a different side of herself in the eponymous music video.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Morrissey, Portishead, Patti Smith, David Bowie and Sparks, and together with other musicians, Kae West creates relevant alternative pop / rock songs on urgent topics. Songs that fire the imagination while both expressing and underlining the issues of the day.
In support of the music, Kae West creates vivid art works in both still and video images formats.
Kae West puts heart and soul into every project she undertakes and supports the charity project “Music Against Animal Abuse” with which she also tempts other musicians to get involved.
With her clear messages, wrapped in black humour, Kae West inspires the listener to draw their own conclusions. “Assume nothing, question everything”.
