Kimeru, born on June 17, 1980, in Kumamoto-ken, Japan, is a Japanese pop singer. After graduating from high school, Kimeru initially worked as a mailman before pursuing a career in music. His debut single "You Got Game?" was released on December 5, 2001, and served as the first ending theme for the anime The Prince of Tennis. This was followed by his second single "Make You Free" in 2002, which was used as an opening theme for the same series. In 2003, Kimeru released his first mini-album, The Beginning, and began his acting career with the musical production of The Prince of Tennis. He originated the role of Shusuke Fuji and understudied the lead role of Ryoma Echizen. His third single "OVERLAP" was released in 2004 as a theme song for the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. Kimeru's popularity grew with subsequent releases, including his first full-length album glorious in December 2005 and GALAXY KISS in January 2007. He signed with Nippon Crown (Crown Records) in 2005 under the "Crown Gold" label. Throughout his career, Kimeru embarked on numerous tours, including his first tour "OVERLAP" in April/May 2004 and the Kimeru-Land Summer Eruption 2005 tour. He received the "Rookie of the Year" award from Nippon Crown in 2006.
