MOSAIC.WAV, a Japanese moe-pop band from Akihabara, was formed in 2004. The group is fronted by vocalist MI-KO, with keyboardist Susumu Kayamori and guitarist Masaya Koike backing her up. The band's name is derived from the digital sound file format WAV and the group initially gained recognition for producing theme songs for eroge (erotic games), only later turning to original work. Their debut single "Magical Hacker☆くるくるリスク" was released in May 2004, marking the start of their music career. The band's discography includes notable albums such as We Love 'AKIBA-POP'!! (2004), SPACE AKIBA-POP (2006), and Future-Fiction:AKIBA-POP!! (2007). MOSAIC.WAV is known for their unique style of J-pop, which incorporates numerous Akihabara cultural references, including fantasy anime and video game themes. Their music has been featured in various media, such as the opening songs for Sumomomo Momomo and Kyouran Kazoku Nikki. In 2015, MOSAIC.WAV composed the soundtrack for the anime adaptation of School-Live!. The band continues to be active, releasing albums like MiracleluminalΣAKIBA-POP!! (2018) and Gacha Gacha Cute ・Figu@Hensoukyoku [Variation] ~Figu@15th Anniv.~ (2022).
