Boyd H. Jarvis, born on October 26, 1958, in New York City, USA, was an American record producer, remixer, and musician known as a synthesizer player. He began his career playing the Yamaha CS-15 synthesizer at local clubs, gaining the attention of DJ Timmy Regisford. His first official track, "The Music Got Me" (which he co-wrote), was released in 1983 by Prelude Records. Jarvis co-hosted the Saturday Night Dance Party radio show on New York's WBLS with Regisford. He produced and remixed records for artists like Madonna, Sade, and Chaka Khan. He also worked as a session musician for Herbie Hancock and dance-pop acts like Club Nouveau. In 1985, he released the single "Battles of the Beats". Jarvis was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and died on February 17, 2018.
