Skavoovie & The Epitones, an American instrumental ska band from Newton, Massachusetts, formed in 1992. The original lineup included Ansis Purins on vocals alongside an expansive ensemble of musicians playing various instruments. In 1994, the band self-released their demo tape, An Evening with Skavoovie…, and contributed the track "Nut Monkey" to the compilation Skarmageddon, which helped them secure a recording contract with Moon Ska Records. Their debut album, Fat Footin', released in 1995, became one of the fastest-selling debuts on the label. The band followed up with Ripe in 1997 and The Growler in 1999. Skavoovie & The Epitones disbanded after their final performance in 2000 but reunited in 2024 for the Supernova International Ska Festival.
