La Nef, a French-Canadian early music performance group, was founded in Quebec in 1991 by Sylvain Bergeron, Claire Gignac, and Viviane LeBlanc. Their debut performance was Musiques pour Jeanne la Folle ("Music for Joan the Mad"), which was later released as an album on Dorian Recordings. The group's discography includes notable works such as The Garden of Earthly Delights (1993), Montségur: La Tragedie Cathare (1996), and a two-volume set titled Perceval - La quête du Graal (1999-2000). Throughout their career, La Nef collaborated with various artists, including Michael Slattery on the album Dowland in Dublin (2012) and Shannon Mercer on Trobairitz: Poems of Women Troubadours (2013).
