Aaroh was an alternative rock band from Karachi, Pakistan, formed in 1998 by keyboardist Kamran Khan and lead guitarist Nabeel Nihal Chishty. The group initially included singer Farooq Ahmed, bassist Khalid Khan, and drummer Adnan Hussain. Aaroh gained prominence in 2002 when they won the national Pepsi Battle of the Bands competition. Following this victory, drummer Jason Anthony replaced Hussain, and the band released their debut album Sawaal in 2003. The album featured successful singles such as "Sawaal" and "Na Kaho". In 2004, a dispute over band name rights led to the departure of Chishty and Kamran Khan, while Farooq Ahmed and Khalid Khan retained the Aaroh brand, with Haider Hashmi joining on lead guitars. Aaroh released their second album Raag Neela in 2006. The band disbanded in 2009, with members pursuing solo careers, and Farooq Ahmed moved to the United States in 2010. Aaroh reunited briefly from 2013 to 2014 but disbanded again after Hashmi's death in 2014.
