Papa San is an internationally renowned Jamaican gospel reggae and dancehall artist known for his groundbreaking impact on both reggae and Christian music. In 1994, he became the first dancehall artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart with The Programme, solidifying his global influence. Throughout the 80s and 90s, hits like I Will Survive, Hippity Hop, Legal Rights, Pray Fi Dem, and Maddy Maddy Cry expanded his reach across the Caribbean, the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Japan. Since his newfound faith in 1997, he has released eight Top Ten Billboard Gospel albums and collaborated with major artists including Kirk Franklin, Michelle Williams, TobyMac, Fred Hammond, Lecrae, Israel Houghton, and Da’ T.R.U.T.H. He is a Stellar Award winner and a nominee for the Dove and Soul Train Awards. In 2011, he and his wife founded Our Father’s Kingdom Ministries International. Most recently, Sean Paul honored him as part of his personal "Mount Rushmore" of dancehall influences.
