Luther Wright & the Wrongs formed in 1998 in Kingston, Ontario. The band began as a side project for Luther Wright while he was part of Weeping Tile. After that group disbanded following This Great Black Night (1998), Wright focused on the Wrongs, which initially included Cam Giroux, Sean Kelly, Brian Flynn, Dan Curtis, and Olesh Maximew. Their debut album, Hurtin' for Certain, was released in 1997. The band's breakthrough came with Rebuild the Wall (2001), a bluegrass country reimagining of Pink Floyd’s The Wall. This led to a North American tour and signings with Universal Records Canada and Back Porch Records. Notable albums included Guitar Pickin' Martyrs (2003) and Hearts and Lonely Hunters (2015).
