Coloured Stone, an Aboriginal Australian band from Koonibba Mission, west of Ceduna, South Australia, was formed in 1977 by Bunna Lawrie, Neil Coaby, Mackie Coaby, and Bruce Mundy. Their breakthrough came with the 1984 single "Black Boy", which became a Number One hit in Fiji and sold 120,000 copies. The band's music blends traditional Aboriginal instruments with rock elements. Coloured Stone released their debut album Koonibba Rock in 1984, followed by several other albums including Island of Greed (1985), Human Love (1986), and Crazy Mind (1990). The group has been recognized for their contributions to Aboriginal causes and education, with songs like "Human Love" and "Island of Greed" used in educational settings. Coloured Stone received the National NAIDOC Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012, honoring Bunna Lawrie's significant contributions to music.
