Rafael Cury Moreira, known as Rafael Moreira, was born on August 3, 1974, in Cambará, Paraná, Brazil. He started singing at age two and playing guitar by five, influenced by his music teacher mother. In Curitiba, he formed bands like Lex Luthor and Icarus. Moreira's breakthrough came with the CBS reality TV series Rock Star: INXS, where he joined the Rock Star House Band as lead guitarist. He appeared on Rock Star: Supernova and collaborated with artists such as Paul Stanley (KISS), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), and Pink. He also performed on shows like American Idol and Saturday Night Live. In 2010, Rafael signed a publishing deal with Bug Music. His band Magnetico released their debut album Songs About the World in 2009.
