Big Dismal is an American Christian rock band formed in the late 1990s in Tallahassee, United States. The group consists of the musicians Eric Durrance, Chuck Shea, Gary Sobel, and Jeff Chomin. Their debut album, Believe (2003), featured the singles “Remember (I.O.U.)” (2003), “Reality” (2003), and “Just the Same” (2003), all of which reached Number 1 on Christian rock radio. “Remember (I.O.U.)” was named Song of the Year by Radio and Records, and the ensemble received a nomination for the Dove Award for Christian Rock Album of the Year in 2004. Their recordings include the tracks “Rainy Day” (2004) and “Reason I Live” (2004), which appeared on the album The Passion of the Christ: Songs. The band became inactive in 2005 before resuming activity in 2023. Their discography includes the singles “Fly Again” (2023) and “Stay in the Fight” (2023), both of which reached Number 1.
