Quatuor Bozzini, a string quartet specializing in new and experimental music, was founded in 1994 by sisters Isabelle and Stéphanie Bozzini while studying at the Université de Montréal. Initially known as Quatuor Euterpe, they received grants from the Conseil des arts du Canada in 1997-1998 and officially became Quatuor Bozzini in 1999 with Clemens Merkel and Geneviève Beaudry joining as violinists. The quartet performed extensively between 2000 and 2001, including international tours. In 2004, they established their own record label, Collection QB. Notable collaborations include works by Jean Lesage, Claude Vivier, Tim Brady, Owen Underhill, and Michel Gonneville. Quatuor Bozzini has received numerous awards, including Prix Opus for Disque de l’année, contemporain (2004) and Interprète de l’année (2017), as well as nominations for Juno Awards in 2020. Their discography includes Canons + Hoquets (2007), À chacun sa miniature (2011), and Just So (2018) with Cassandra Miller.
