Bob Kirkpatrick, born January 10, 1934 in Haynesville, Louisiana, is an American Texas blues guitarist. He began playing music at a young age, learning piano and guitar before being drafted into the military in 1953. After his discharge in 1955, he attended Grambling College and backed Ivory Joe Hunter. A pivotal moment came in 1958 when Kirkpatrick saw B.B. King perform, inspiring him to pursue blues music. He settled in Dallas, Texas, and played locally while working for various federal agencies. His debut album Feeling the Blues was released by Folkways Records in 1973. After retiring from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in May 1986, Kirkpatrick increased his regional performances and recorded Going Back to Texas in 1996. He toured extensively across Europe in late 1997 and released Drive Across Texas by Topcat Records in 2000. His album Feeling the Blues was reissued by Smithsonian Folkways in 2012.
