Pierre Dørge, born on February 28, 1946 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is an avant-garde jazz guitarist. In 1969, he began his professional career as part of John Tchicai's free-jazz big band. He later led Thermaenius in 1978 and the New Jungle Orchestra in 1980, which blended traditional and modern jazz with West African Highlife guitar music. Dørge has collaborated extensively with notable musicians such as Irene Becker, Johnny Dyani, and Marilyn Mazur. His discography includes Landscape with Open Door (1979), Copenhagen Boogie (1982), and Like Salamanders We Survive (2013).
