Marquavis Goolsby, known professionally as Dae Dae, was born on July 29, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia. He is an American DJ and rapper who developed an early interest in music at the age of eight when his father introduced him to hip-hop artists like Bow Wow and Lil Romeo. At fourteen, Goolsby dropped out of school and became a father, leading him to work in concrete and flooring to support himself while pursuing his musical aspirations. Dae Dae's breakthrough came with the release of "Wat U Mean (Aye, Aye, Aye)" in 2015. The song gained significant traction, entering the Billboard Hot 100 and leading to a joint venture deal with Nitti Beatz and 300 Entertainment. In 2016, he released his debut mixtape 4 Reasons, which featured guest performances from artists like Rich Homie Quan. Dae Dae also joined Young Thug's Hi-Tunes tour that year. His subsequent releases included the singles "Spend It" and "Dem Days", as well as the collaborative mixtape The DefAnition with London on da Track. In 2017, he was named one of FACT Magazine's 10 Rappers to Watch. Dae Dae's legal issues began in June 2021 when he was arrested for stabbing a 17-year-old Dunkin' Donuts employee.
