Doris “Dodo” Hug, born on February 12, 1950, in Bern, Switzerland, is a singer-songwriter, musician, and comedian known for her multilingual lyrics and eclectic musical style. She began her career as a music teacher and street and pub performer before gaining recognition with the group Mad Dodo in the 1980s. Hug launched her solo career with the album Ora siamo now in 1994, frequently collaborating with her partner, Sardinian musician and composer Efisio Contini. Her work spans German, French, Italian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and she has been honored with several awards, including the Salzburger Stier (1985), Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis (1993), Prix Walo (1994), and Kulturpreis des Kantons Zürich (2020).
