Piĉismo, a Ukrainian punk rock group also known as Pichismo, was formed in January 1993 in Tsiouroupynsk by Gleb Maltsev and Roman "Malthus" Maltsev. The band self-identified with the genre "espérantocore," incorporating Esperanto lyrics into their music. Their first concert took place at Kherson's Theatre Vert later that year. Their debut demo, Subita merdo, was recorded in October 1993, with vinyl and cassette versions following later. In 1994, Piĉismo participated in the Jeunes ondes '94 festival in Eupatoria, Crimea. Throughout their career, Piĉismo recorded multiple demos in constructed languages such as Volapük and Klingon. Notable collaborations include work by Gleb with members of the Lithuanian punk hardcore band Invazija for the album P.P.P. The group's final album, Idiotroniko, was released in 2006. Piĉismo disbanded in 2007 but was included in the compilation Esperanto Subgrunde alongside other notable bands.
