Sally Pinkas is a pianist born in Israel who moved to the United States as a teenager to study piano. She earned her Ph.D. from Brandeis University and made her debut performance in London in 1983. Pinkas explored both contemporary and traditional repertoire, including chamber music. She performed with her husband Evan Hirsch as the Hirsch-Pinkas Piano Duo. Albums include Fauré's Thirteen Nocturnes (2002), which was named one of the best CDs of the year by The Boston Globe. Pinkas is Professor of Music at Dartmouth College.
