Susana Cala (born Susana Isaza Piñeros, Bogotá, February 10, 1998) is a Colombian pop singer and songwriter who started in music as a composer with Warner Chappell before launching her solo career in 2021. Early on she wrote for and with prominent Latin acts (including work tied to Morat and Andrés Cepeda), then introduced herself as a performer with a run of singles that culminated in the duet “Mi Canción Favorita” with Venezuelan artist Lasso in December 2021, giving her first international push. In May 2022 she issued her debut EP Sopa de Letras—a five-track set featuring “Paralizante” with Bacilos and “No Fue Tu Culpa” with Antonio José—establishing her blend of confessional lyric writing and light, acoustic-leaning pop production. Throughout 2023 she kept momentum with singles such as “No Eras Para Tanto,” “Tiempo Indefinido,” and “Fórmula 1,” steadily growing her audience across streaming platforms. Her first full-length, Arial 12, arrived on October 24, 2024 (distributed by ADA), a 12-song album framing a coming-of-age narrative across tracks released during the year (the “Arial” series) and noted in Colombian media for its intimate, twenty-something portrait. In 2025 Susana Cala broadened her profile with the pop ballad “Contratiempo,” a collaboration with Mexican singer Andrés Obregón released on June 12, and supported the album with tour dates including a headlining show at Mexico City’s Lunario del Auditorio Nacional on May 22, 2025—marking her transition from promising songwriter to headlining artist with a clear, autobiographical voice.
