The Bangerz, originally known as Fingerbangerz, were a six-member production and DJ group from San Jose, California. Formed in 1998 by Goldenchyld, Replay, Nick Ngo, Cutso, Squareweezy, and G-Wrex, all members had attended Silver Creek High School together. The group initially gained traction through local battles and mixtapes, winning the International Turntablist Federation Western Hemisphere Team Championships in 2000 and the DMC Regional Championships in 2001 . Their first album, Vi-R-Us, was released independently in 2003, expanding their fanbase internationally. The Bangerz collaborated with Jabbawockeez, creating music for their live shows, including the LP Mus.I.C (2011), which charted behind Daft Punk’s Tron on iTunes. Their subsequent album, Prism, was released in 2013 and served as the score for a Las Vegas stage show of the same name.
