Born and raised in South Africa Kananelo Tladi Monyayisa, professionally known by DaH-KAY started recording his music in late 2014 while he was in Grade 8 at Thusa-setjhaba Secondary School in Gauteng. He has an older cousin he calls brother, Tshepang Sithole professionally known by De Big Guy, who he does music with gave him a spirit and passion for this music. He uses his native language, Sesotho in raps and also other genres. He also worked with Karville, De Big Guy, Tee Steez, J-Snap_za, skywalker, and many more still to work with.
He started to develop an interest in rap music inspired by his high school friends who made music then. DaH-KAY then moved to Lesotho the following year where he bought a computer and a mic, then started to teach himself how to mix and master using downloaded beats. Unfortunately, when he arrived at MJ Mohlhli High School he made some bad friends and was involved in multiple disobedience acts of gangsterism on the school premises. After being expelled from MJ Mohlahli High School in Ficksburg, Monyayisa moved back to Thusa-setjhaba Secondary School in Gauteng where he finished his matric in 2019.
During the events of 2015-2016, he stopped doing music for a while at that time. In 2017, he has reunited with recording once again with his cousin's friend Pule Mohlala, After completing his Matric in 2019, he was then enrolled in the North West University at Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng where he bought studio pieces of equipment and started producing his music. He released his first official singles in early 2021 on all digital distributions. He worked on Ke Wena, Maben-10, Money Money, Boclever, and others.
DaH-KAY is still working towards building his brand image and sound. He released his first unofficial EP of 6 tracks in December 2021 available on YouTube and other free streaming platforms. In July 2022 he released his first Official EP of Four tracks Sapo La Mjita.
