Maria Teresa Peszek, also known as Maria Pezek, born on September 9, 1973, in Wrocław, is a Polish actress, songwriter, and singer. She began her acting career at age 10, appearing in the series Rozalka Olaboga. In 2005, Maria Peszek released her debut album Miasto mania under the label Kayax, which reached sixth place on the OLiS chart and earned a platinum certification. The album's lead single, "Moje Miasto", was well-received, and in 2006, she won Fryderyk Awards for Music Production of the Year and New Artist of the Year. Her concept album, Maria Awaria (2008), reached Number 1 on the OLiS chart and received critical acclaim despite controversies over its themes. The album earned her two Fryderyk Awards in 2009, including Author of the Year and Best Alternative Album. In October 2012, she released Jezus Maria Peszek, addressing themes of illness and religion. She also released several albums, including Karabin (2016) and Ave Maria (2021).
