C-Clamp was an American indie rock band from Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, active between 1994 and 1999. The group consisted of Tom Fitzgerald, Nick Macri, and Frantz Etienne. Their debut single "Soft" b/w "Rinse" was released in 1993, marking their initial foray into the music scene. C-Clamp released two full-length albums during their active years: Meander + Return in 1995 and Longer Waves in 1999. The band's style, often referred to as slowcore, emphasized mood, texture, and rhythm with subtle vocal harmonies. Despite infrequent live performances, C-Clamp shared the stage with notable bands such as Braid, Castor, Dianogah, Karate, and Hum. After recording Longer Waves, Etienne left the band, leading to their eventual disbandment by the end of 1999. In 2023, The Numero Group reissued C-Clamp's entire discography.
