Luis Borda, born on July 18, 1955, in Lincoln, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, is an Argentinian composer and guitarist known for his contributions to world music. He began his musical journey studying harmony and composition under Osvaldo Lupi and Alberto Coronato. In his late teens, Borda released his first album with the band Ave Rock in 1974 with the same name. In 1982, he formed the Luis Borda Trio, which later expanded into the Luis Borda Quinteto in 1984. With this ensemble, he toured extensively across Argentina and Europe, including Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands. Borda's notable works include composing the soundtrack for the film 12 Tangos: Adios Buenos Aires (2005) directed by Arne Birkenstock. He has released several albums, such as Música de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (Vol 1) in 1988, Orientación in 2004, and De Creta A Buenos Aires in 2015.
