Saori Yano, born on October 27, 1986, in Ota Ward, Tokyo, is a jazz musician and saxophonist. She joined her school band at nine and discovered jazz through her father's records, learning saxophone autodidactically. At 14, she debuted as a jazz saxophonist, signing her first record deal by 15. Her debut album, Yano Saori, was released in 2003. Throughout her career, Yano performed with notable musicians like Jimmy Cobb and James Moody in New York City clubs, and released albums including Parker's Mood Live In New York (2005) and Bubble Bubble Bebop (2015). Despite lacking formal musical education, her extensive performance experience and mentorship from James Moody contributed to her development as an artist.
