Frank Jorge, born Jorge Otávio Pinto Pouey de Oliveira on September 20, 1966, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, is a singer and writer. Inspired by his father's travels to Argentina and Uruguay, Frank began playing guitar after seeing a sister's friend play and later took lessons from a local guitarist. In the 1990s, he played in bands like Black Master and Júlio Reny Guitar Band before forming Graforréia Xilarmônica with whom he released Coisa de Louco II (1995). The group's success led to collaborations with Pato Fu on their album Televisão de Cachorro (1998) and the release of Chapinhas de Ouro (1998). Frank also formed Cowboys Espirituais, releasing an eponymous album in 1998.
