Electric President, an electronic and indie pop group from Jacksonville, Florida, was formed in 2003 by Ben Cooper and Alex Kane. Prior to Electric President, both members were part of Helicopter Project. In early 2006, the duo released their debut album S/T on German electronica label Morr Music. The album's track "Insomnia" gained limited mainstream fame when it was featured on Fox Network's hit show The OC. Their subsequent albums included Sleep Well, released in June 2008 in Europe, and The Violent Blue, released in February 2010 under Fake Four Inc. After The Violent Blue, Electric President went into hiatus as Alex Kane pursued other career opportunities and Ben Cooper focused on projects like Radical Face.
